Post Treatment Protocols
Thank you for choosing Massage Theory for your skincare services. It is very important to properly care for your skin to avoid any complications. The following is provided for you to do just that and make the most of the service you received. We want you to love the results from your treatment and these aftercare instructions will ensure that you do!
Waxing
To make the most of your waxing appointment here are some Do’s and Don’ts.
Pre-Wax
For best results hair should be approximately ¼ inch long.
Don’t use creams, lotions or gels to the area being waxed the day of your appointment.
Don’t sunbathe 24 hours before or after your treatment. Tanning before treatment can cause adverse reaction.
To reduce discomfort, you may take ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
Post Waxing
Don’t sunbath for 24 hours before or after treatment. Tanning after your treatment can cause irritation, redness and burning.
Use sunscreen when exposed to sun especially 24 hours post treatment.
Do not use any products on the waxed area until the following day.
No swimming pools, hot tubs or saunas for 24 hours after waxing.
Keep hair follicles clean by showering immediately after exercise or strenuous activity.
Continuous Treatment
Exfoliate every 3 days with a mitt or body scrub to avoid in-grown hairs.
Facial Services
Chemical Peels and Micro/Peel Combinations
Always wear SPF while in the sun to avoid hyperpigmentation and irritation.
If you experience any peeling or irritation, DO NOT pick your skin. It is very important that you allow the skin to shed on its own.
Do not use any scrubs or exfoliating products on your skin for at least 48 hours after your service.
Avoid “heat” on the skin. Do not stay outdoors in warm weather for too long.
Avoid hot tubs, hot baths or showers, vigorous exercise, spicy foods, and alcohol for the next 7-10 days until your skin has recovered.Your skin may be more sensitive than it normally is. Cool compresses can be applied to reduce irritation.
Use a gentle cleanser and a rich moisturizer to care for your skin for the next 7-10 days.
Your skin will feel tight and/or dry for up to 72 hours following your treatment.If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your skincare provider.
Microdermabrasion
